Every now and then Frigi-Temp Temperature Solutions gets to participate in reviving a piece of history in one of the communities it serves. The Boondocks is a one hundred year old structure that sat condemned until local business men brought it back to life. In its prime, the building was rich with purpose. At various points in its history it served as the town livery, an automotive shop, a bottling plant, the fire station, and as The Boondocks Auction house. Before being restored, it was vacant and in a state of decay for nearly 30 years. Frigi-Temp was excited to be a partner on this project and bring comfort cooling to this beautiful building while being careful not to impose upon its aesthetic, and historic appeal. The building re-opened last year as an events venue and is once again emerging as the hub of the community’s activity. Frigi-Temp worked with the property owners not only to construct a tasteful duct design, but also to build a mechanical system with energy efficiency in mind. Using a combination of heat pumps, natural gas furnaces, spray foam insulation, and wireless programmable thermostats, Frigi-Temp was successful in meeting all of this customers’ comfort expectations in an environmentally conscious way.
